Tottenham Hotspur have only won three of their last nine games in all competitions, and have seen their Premier League title hopes almost evaporate over the last few weeks.
Indeed, Mauricio Pochettino’s side have only collected two points from their last four league matches, and are without a win in the top flight since the start of November.
That run of form has left them down in sixth position in the Premier League – an incredible 18 points off the leaders Manchester City after just 15 matches of the 2017-18 campaign.
There has been some good news on the injury front in recent matches, however, with a certain Erik Lamela appearing off the bench against Leicester City and Watford.
The 25-year-old, who is valued at £22.5m by transfermarkt.co.uk, missed more than a year of football due to a hip problem, but is now back in the fold.
It would be fair to say that the Spurs fans are delighted with the Argentine’s return, and many feel that he is capable of inspiring a team that are currently short of confidence.
