[ad_pod ]Southampton make the trip up the coast to Brighton this weekend and will be keen to add to their impressive performances in recent outings by taking three points from the Amex Stadium. The Seagulls are in solid form, too, having progressed to the semi-finals of the FA Cup and beaten bitter rivals Crystal Palace – this run could come to an end against the Saints, though, who have received a timely boost ahead of the clash.
What’s the news?
Well, speaking in his pre-Brighton presser, Ralph Hasenhuttl revealed that Danny Ings is back in contention having finally recovered from a hamstring injury suffered in February:
Huge boost
Charlie Austin has been deputising for his countryman recently and has been underwhelming to say the least – the 29-year-old hasn’t posed much of a threat in front of goal and is far from mobile enough to make best use of Hasenhuttl’s pressing style.
Ings, though, if he can remain fit, is a far better choice to spearhead the Saints attack and is a natural finisher.
If their hosts this weekend play anything like how they did against their most recent Premier League opposition, there will be little room for Southampton to work with in the final third, so they will have to take their chances when they come.

The former Burnley striker has notched seven for the St Mary’s Stadium outfit in 17 appearances and his return to the fore will be a huge boost for Hasenhuttl and co.
Will the 26-year-old be able to immediately alleviate the goal-scoring responsibility recently placed on the shoulders of James Ward-Prowse and Yan Valery?
