Charlton Athletic announced on their official Twitter account on Monday that the club had sold more than 30,000 tickets for their League One play-off final clash against Sunderland at Wembley on Sunday, and Addicks fans were quick to react.
The south London outfit reached the showpiece on penalties following a 4-4 draw on aggregate with Doncaster Rovers at the semi-final stage, with Dillon Phillips the hero between the sticks for Lee Bowyer’s men.
Now Athletic will face a side looking to bounce back up to the Championship at the first attempt in the Mackems, who limped across the line in the end with their run-in bringing plenty of draws and defeats.

Wembley is well on course for a sell-out with both clubs set to bring swarms of people to England’s home, with Charlton breaking through the 30,000 point on Monday – with six days still to go until the event.
Addicks supporters on social media were certainly impressed with the numbers following the update from the club, with one replying saying “OH MY GOD”, and another saying they were “not surprised”.
